Rockbridge United Joins the Virginia Soccer Alliance

The Virginia Soccer Alliance is proud to announce new member club Rockbridge United Soccer Club. Rockbridge United offers soccer programming for youth players in the Lexington, Buena Vista, and Rockbridge County area. Fall 2023 player tryouts and placement clinics are happening now with summer camp and clinic announcements soon to come.
Rockbridge United Soccer Club has provided soccer programming and training from it’s creation in 2007. The club is committed to fostering the enjoyment and love of soccer in the Rockbridge community. Rockbridge United programs seek to develop integrity, teamwork, and sportsmanship in it’s players, coaches, and staff. Through the years the club has served youth players from all backgrounds and from ages 6 to 18 years old.
“Since our founding in 2007, Rockbridge United has brought together families and players from across Rockbridge County and its cities. The exciting merger with VSA allows us to build upon a period of renewed growth in numbers and programming. The expertise and support provided by VSA, and especially the work of new Technical Director Nick Regan, will guarantee RUSC can continue developing individuals, teams, and the soccer community in Rockbridge, Lexington, and Buena Vista for many years to come.” said Rockbridge United founder Paul Gregory.
Current Head Coach of the Men’s soccer program at VMI, Nick Regan, recently has accepted the position of Technical Director for the club and will be instrumental in the development of the club in the coming seasons. Coach Regan had this to say about the current developments for the club; “I am incredibly excited to come on as Technical Director of Rockbridge United. Rockbridge County is blessed to have six NCAA college soccer programs within its boundaries. As a representative of one of them, I believe it is incredibly important to give back to the community and help provide opportunities for aspiring soccer players of all age levels and skill sets. Thanks to our partners at the Virginia Soccer Alliance, the soccer scene in Rockbridge County now has the backing and support of a highly successful organization that has a proven track record of building strong clubs in communities like ours. I can’t wait to get started and hope to see you join us on this journey.”
The Virginia Soccer Alliance was formed in 2021 and seeks to unite the efforts of youth soccer clubs in the western region of Virginia. The Alliance provides an economy of resources and ideas from which it’s member clubs may draw in order to serve their communities effectively. Players who are a part of the alliance of clubs have the opportunity to not only compete locally for their unique community but have access to national and regional platforms that are often unattainable for communities of smaller size.
